Poddy: Antonio di Lorenzo – ITA Antonio Di Lorenzo was really young when he started breeding Neapolitan Mastiffs; he is by now 37 years experienced in this breed. He owns the eldest breeding between those which are still in activity: “Dell’Altafiumara”. Several subjects from his kennel were Champions: as an example, we can remember Ramona dell’Altafiumara, winner also in Neaples, and her son, the famous El Gavilan dell’Altafiumara, who won twice the World Championship. He selects few, but extremely valuable subjects, giving preference to studying and utilizing progenie lineage, more than selecting good phenotype, but with a genotype scarcely interesting. He has been judging since 27 years; he started with the Neapolitan Mastiffs and then he dedicated to other breeds, expecially those morphologically similar to the Mastiffs. By now he is a judge for all breeds, as aknowledged from FCI. He did several seminaries of breeds in Italy, Israel, Mexico, Russia, USA. He has been a judge all over the world and in many Championships; particularly, he was honoured to judge in The United Kingdom a Championship show of english breedings.

Scotties are also close to my heart and I have always had one Scottie. For many years I was very connected with the breed. In civil life I am a nurse and have a family of four children. I started judging in 1976 first with terriers, but now also dogs in FCI groups 2, 6 and 9.I have judged in about twenty five countries, in Scandinavia, many European countries, United States, Australia and New Zealand. In my own breed I have judged Ch Shows in Great Britain six times over the years, including Crufts as the first foreign judge for West Highlands. Stockholm next year will be my fifths World Show, I look forward to this very much as these shows are special and I think we will do a good job in Sweden. I look forward to judge in your country.

Poddy: Martha HEINE, Germany At first I want to premise that you should know that the development to become a judge within the VDH and his membership associations is very extensive and long lasting. At last there are examinations. Exercises especially in anatomy are obligatory. A prior condition to become a judge is having bred successfully -that means having bred Champions. In 1969 i had my first Bedlington-Terrier. Since 1986 I’m also an owner of Greyhounds. My own breeding of Bedlingtons started in the beginning of the 70`s. Over the years I have bred a lot of Bedlington-terrier champions My accomplishment as a judge began in 1976. In 1980 I got my permission as a judge for some breeds of terriers. I carried on my study for all breeds of terriers in the following years. Since 1990 I am a group judge for all terriers of the FCI-Group 3 and Black-Terriers FCI-Group 2. In connection I started my accomplishment concerning the FCI-Group 10 (Sighthounds), finished This Group 1994 and Group 5 end of 1998. All breeds and Groups I’m judging on CC-level. Publication and Appointment for Group 9 Nov. 99, since 2000. Since 1980 I have judged a lot of Exhibitions in Germany and foreign countries. Till now I have judged in more then 30 countries around the world, at World, European-Winner and Main-Shows more.

This breeding has resulted in several world winners and more than 50 champions all over the world and has been awarded Hamiltonplaketten from the Swedish kennel club as well as the Swedish Terrier clubs Breeders medal. In 1983 I was appointed as a judge for Golden retrievers as the first breed specialist in Sweden followed by the other retriever breeds and spaniels and I am now a group 8 all rounder.
